As Olivia Attwood and Pete Wicks’ romance is now out in the open, it is becoming clear that the signs had been there for months.

The pair, who recently confirmed their relationship after sharing a kiss during a night out with friends, had long sparked speculation that their close friendship might one day turn into something more. While those around them insist there was “no crossover” with Olivia’s previous marriage, a string of moments over recent months had already set tongues wagging.

Olivia split from footballer Bradley Dack earlier this year after what was described as a “breach of trust” on his side. Since then, her friendship with Pete appears to have quietly developed into a full-blown romance.

One of the biggest clues came earlier this month during the BRIT Awards. Although Olivia and Pete were seated at different tables during the ceremony, they reportedly spent much of the evening together. As the night rolled on, their bond seemed impossible to ignore. At around 3AM, Pete was photographed carrying two pizzas up to his hotel room after the awards bash. The following morning, he and Olivia were then seen leaving the same hotel together before getting into a car home.

That late-night moment only added fuel to speculation, but it was not the first time people had noticed the chemistry between them.

Just last month, after Olivia’s split from Bradley became public, she celebrated a new Garnier brand deal with colleagues and friends at The Newman Hotel in central London. The evening later continued in Soho, where Pete joined the group. In the early hours, Olivia and Pete were pictured leaving together in a taxi at 3AM, prompting yet more whispers about the true nature of their relationship.

But perhaps the most talked-about hint came even earlier, during a summer trip to Ibiza last year, long before Olivia’s marriage officially ended. Photos from the getaway showed Olivia reclining between Pete’s legs on a yacht as he wrapped his arms around her and the pair laughed with friends. Other snaps showed them walking side by side, with Pete’s arm around her.

At the time, the images caused a major stir, particularly because Olivia was still married to Bradley. Reports claimed he was left “furious” by what was described as “reckless” behaviour. Olivia later addressed that difficult period on her podcast, Olivia’s House, admitting, “It’s no secret. We had a really bad summer.” She continued, “I think that there was stuff going on on both sides…. At the end of day marriage is really f***ing hard.”

She also acknowledged her own flaws, admitting she could be “self-destructive” and often pushed Bradley away when things became difficult, rather than facing problems head-on together. Even so, the couple appeared to get their relationship back on track for a time after the Ibiza fallout.

Pete also raised eyebrows months later when he openly admitted he had missed Olivia during a holiday to Las Vegas without her. Speaking on their radio show, he said: “It did make me think of you. Because you were there before and we have said before we like a holiday. I just wish you’d been in Vegas with me. Because I feel like it’s very me and you Vegas. I needed another Vegas partner in crime.”

That seemingly throwaway remark now looks far more telling in hindsight.

And then there is Bradley’s social media move, which many fans saw as another major clue. While he still follows Olivia online, he does not follow Pete. In fact, Bradley reportedly blocked him shortly after Olivia and Pete were seen leaving their Manchester hotel together after the BRITs.

Taken separately, each of these moments may have seemed harmless enough. But together, they paint the picture of a relationship that had been building behind the scenes for quite some time. What began as a strong friendship now seems to have crossed into something much more serious — and for many watching closely, the romance will not have come as a surprise at all.
