Dianne Buswell celebrates her first week as a new mum by sharing a sweet snap with Bowden, while Joe Sugg treats her to breakfast in bed, calling it “the most magical days of her life.”

Dianne Buswell has given fans a heart-melting glimpse into her first week as a new mum, sharing a tender photo of herself cradling newborn son Bowden while soaking up the joy of life at home with Joe Sugg.

The Strictly Come Dancing star, 36, announced earlier this week that she and Joe had welcomed their baby boy, Bowden Mark Richard Sugg, on March 16. And now, just days after revealing the happy news, Dianne has returned to Instagram with a sweet update that captured the calm, love-filled bubble the couple are now living in.

In the adorable snap, Dianne held her son close as she marked their first weekend together, writing: “Our first weekend of many together my little Bowie. P.S. Can confirm he did not inherit my toe thumb.” The playful comment added a touch of her trademark humour to an already emotional family moment.

She later shared another look at life with newborn Bowden, revealing that Joe had treated her to breakfast in bed as he settled into his new role as a father. Posting a picture of a bowl of fruit and yoghurt, Dianne wrote: “When daddy makes you breakfast in bed”.

The touching family updates came just days after Dianne opened up about the emotional whirlwind of becoming a mother. Sharing a previous photo with her son on Instagram Stories, she admitted: “These last few days have been the most magical time of my life.”

Dianne and Joe, who first met when they were paired together on Strictly in 2018, announced the arrival of their son in an emotional post. Alongside a precious image of Bowden in Dianne’s arms and another showing the couple bringing him home from hospital, they wrote: “Never felt a love like it. Baby Bowden Mark Richard Sugg. 16/03/26.”

Their baby’s name also carries deep family meaning. Bowden’s middle name Mark is a tribute to Dianne’s beloved father, while Richard honours Joe’s late grandfather, who died in 2021. That detail gave the joyful announcement an even more emotional layer, blending new beginnings with cherished family memories.

The couple were quickly showered with love from friends, fans and Dianne’s Strictly co-stars. Vicky Pattison wrote: “Omg!!!! Congratulations guys!!! He is Perfect.” Vito Coppola shared his excitement, saying: “Oh Finally, bello di zio. I am so so happy, crying for joy and happiness. Uncle Vito cannot wait to meet you ☺️ Love love love ♥️ Bellissimo a zio.” Nancy Xu also gushed: “Auntie Nancy can’t wait to meet you, welcome to the world my beautiful angel. CONGRATULATIONS MY D D and @joe_sugg.”

Janette Manrara called it “The best news!!!” as she told Dianne that “the most beautiful moments in life are to come”, while Amy Dowden wrote: “Utter perfection. So happy for you both, welcome baby Bowden! I can’t wait for cwtches xxxx.” Gorka Marquez and Fleur East were also among the stars celebrating the couple’s happy news.

Dianne first revealed she was expecting back in September in a moving pregnancy announcement shared with Joe. Set to Elton John’s Tiny Dancer, the couple’s video showed them pretending to paint together before turning the canvas around to reveal a drawing of two stick figures holding hands with a baby. They also told fans they were expecting a son, with Joe writing at the time: “Our little baby boy ❤️ we cannot wait to meet you.”

Her pregnancy made headlines throughout the last Strictly series, with Dianne becoming the first professional dancer in the show’s history to compete while pregnant. Although she later had to leave the competition when her celebrity partner Stefan Dennis was injured, she firmly shut down rumours that her pregnancy had anything to do with their withdrawal.

Addressing speculation directly, Dianne wrote: “Just to clarify as I have had lots of people msg me thinking this is a cover up for me being not able to dance!? Firstly we wouldn’t lie especially about somebody being sick! And secondly I am fine, yes I am pregnant but I’m also very capable and feeling really good!” She added that there were already procedures in place if any professional became unwell or injured.

Long before announcing her pregnancy, Dianne had spoken openly about wanting to become a mother. In an earlier interview, she admitted: “I would like to have children, 100 per cent. Joe and I love kids, and that’s definitely something that we would absolutely love… It will definitely happen.”

Now, that dream has become reality — and judging by Dianne’s latest posts, she and Joe are embracing every sleepless, sentimental and joy-filled second of life with baby Bowden
